This is probably my most unusual design project. I was asked by a friend and avid wood worker who lives in a floating house near Portland, Oregon to design and help build a wood working shop to be anchored next to his houseboat. The shop floats on a plywood and fiberglass hull (the hull also doubles as storage space). The roof structure is composed of site-built scissor trusses, rigid insulation, standing seam metal roofing and is crowned with a pilot’s house.
